Helping the Less Fortunate

Hi, everybody! Happy 4th of July!

The past few days have been SO hectic. I can’t wait until my first day off from CVS in four days on Wednesday. I haven’t cooked anything in a few nights and I’m going insane!

The plus side of working there, though, is that since I’m in on all the deals I get to do crazy transactions like this and pull it all off for only $0.23… I’m totally serious!! But it’s not just for employees, you can do it too, I promise you. It takes me a few hours a week, but when I’m getting stuff like this for almost free, it’s definitely worth it. Especially as a practically-broke college student.

Also, I donate a lot of the free stuff I end up with to charity. That’s probably my favorite part about all of this. When I was a student at Mount Saint Charles, and even during the year I went to Elon University in North Carolina, I was doing a lot of community service. Since I’ve been back at URI with an (almost) full-time job at CVS, I just don’t really have time for that anymore. I’m glad that I’m going for Education, though, as it’s a great profession and really does make a difference. In the meantime, I’m glad I can give to the less-fortunate in this small way that I can.

• (2) Head & Shoulders: $4.99/each + $2ECB (ECBs limit of 1) (used one BOGO manufacturer coupon and one $1/2 manufacturer coupon)
• (4) Gillette & Old Spice Body Wash: $3.00/each (used two BOGO manufacturer coupons, one $1/2 coupon, and two $1/1 coupons)
• (2) Kiss Artificial Nails: Buy 2 Get $4ECB (used “$4 off $10 artificial nails” CVS coupon)
• (2) Oral-B Advantage Toothbrushes: $3.00/each + $1ECB (ECBs limit of 1) (used two $2 manufacturer coupons)
• (1) CVS water: $0.99

I saved a total of $31.67 using CVS and manufacturer coupons (before ECBs). Including ECBs I saved a total of $74.38. I used a total of $23.50ECBs.

Grand Total = $0.23

I made $11ECB on this purchase.

Also, I got this coffee for free two weeks ago… it was pretty good! I might even like it better than the Starbucks ones. And I loved how it says & VANILLANESS.
