Busy, Busy, Busy!

It’s been another busy day for me! After waking up at 7:30am and writing a post about my Healthy Cheesy Mashed Potatoes (you SERIOUSLY need to try these. So delish. So healthy.) I was up and about getting everything ready for when my girlfriends come over tonight. I haven’t seen these ladies in forever! We all went to different schools in different states after high school graduation, but we try to get all together at least once in the summer and once in the winter.

For breakfast I made myself some oatmeal with Greek yogurt, cinnamon, and PB&Co.’s Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter.  It was really yummy.

After breakfast I chopped up these veggies for the girls tonight. Veggies and hummus! Yum. With a side of brownies (recipe coming soon!). And chips. Girl-chat needs sustenance of the non-healthy variety!

Speaking of which, I noticed something weird when making the brownies. I had some batter leftover, so (of course) I was going at it with a spoon. I could only get in about two spoonfuls before my stomach went “no way” and got nauseous. I can remember times when a bowl full of batter would’ve been way too easy to eat. Now two spoonfuls makes me nauseous? I love being healthy but it’s honestly a little weird that my body has grown so accustomed to healthy and whole foods that anything really sweet or super processed makes me feel sick. I guess that’s the body’s well of telling us what we shouldn’t be eating! It’s probably a good thing.

For lunch I cooked myself up an awesome plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes, spinach, and onions. I’m not that great at cooking eggs (hence my Baked Omelet), but this actually came out really good!

After lunch I went out to mail my Foodie Pen Pals package. Kelly should be really excited!! When I came back I was pleasantly surprised by this package from Zone Perfect. I love their bars and they were nice enough to send me some free samples. I guess they must think I’ll really like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough because they sent me 20 bars!! I’ve never tried this new flavor before, but it looks really good.

I’m still really busy getting ready for my friends to come over. I made this huge list of stuff I had to get done before 7pm tonight! Luckily I plowed through a lot of it before lunch.

  • Take out recycling (yes, I do have my own pile of recycling in my room)
  • Take out trash
  • Wash sheets
  • Move the pile of stuff in front of the door in my room
  • Clean sink and toilet in the bathroom
  • Do laundry
  • Make brownies & veggies
  • Organize and clean nightstand
  • Mail FPP package
  • Make both beds (I have a couch bed in my room that my friends will sleep on)
  • Clean off couch (I usually use my couch to throw things on, so there was a huge pile of clothes and stuff on there)
  • Take shower
  • Paint toenails (It’s really necessary! I haven’t painted them in about a month.)
