March Healthy Goals

by MirandaMowbray on March 1, 2012

Have you guys heard?

I just found out last week about Ben & Jerry’s Greek Frozen Yogurt!! I’m so excited. The new four flavors are Strawberry Shortcake, Banana Peanut Butter, Raspberry Fudge Chunk, and Blueberry Graham Cracker. I’m particularly excited for the Banana Peanut Butter and Blueberry Graham Cracker flavors! So far, I can’t seem to find information about the specific Nutrition Facts, but people are reporting that it’s lower in calories and higher in protein than regular ice cream – that’s a plus in my book! I can’t wait to try them.

Today is March 1st! I can’t believe how quickly this year is going by already. February and March are my least favorite months of the year – so hopefully March will go by just as quickly and February did. The one exciting thing about March? SPRING BREAK! I’m not going anywhere or doing anything special, but it’ll be nice to get some time off from schoolwork. Hopefully I’ll be able to find an awesome St. Patty’s Day party to go to, too.

Since it’s March 1st, it’s time to come up with some health goals for this month. Honestly, I haven’t thought too much about what I want to work towards in March because today just crept up on me.

March Healthy Goals

  • Go the whole month without having a migraine.
  • Exercise 4x per week.
  • Make 2 recipes from a cookbook I own.
  • Donate food to the food pantry at least once.

Go the whole month without having a migraine. This isn’t really something that I can “work on”, but I’m hoping that taking the 500mg of Magnesium a day is going to help. They’ve been so bad lately that I really want to be able to go the whole month without having to deal with another one!

Exercise 4x per week. This is the same goal as last month, but I really want to keep it up! I think that increasing it to 5 days a week, while achievable, would be too much of a stress on me. I don’t want to feel pressured to get the workouts in – I want it to be fun!

Make 2 recipes from a cookbook I own. Last month, I completely failed at this! I forgot about this goal and never did it. This month I’m going to remember it and actually do it!

Donate food to the food pantry at least once. I have so much food in my pantry because I’m a coupon-er. What I love about coupon-ing is that, because you are able to buy so much stuff, it’s really easy to donate to local food pantries. I have just been lazy and really need to go and drop a bunch of stuff off. I love that the Stop & Shop in Bellingham has a donation center for the food pantry – I can just bring a bunch of stuff there to make it easier!

This month, I decided to make less goals than normal because I’m also still working on achieving my goal for Lent – not to buy anything from Walmart, Target, or Amazon.

Wish me luck!

I like your goals! I saw the Ben & Jerry’s greek frozen yogurt, but I am going vegan for lent (I am Christian Orthodox and thats how we do the lent) so I can’t have some!
