Freezer Overhaul

by MirandaMowbray on April 22, 2012

Hi guys!

This weekend is going by so fast. I can’t believe it’s already Sunday night. That always seems to happen when you’re really not looking forward to the week ahead, huh? I only have two days left of school – Tuesday and Thursday – but, even though I’m looking forward to that, there’s still a lot left for me to do before I’m officially done with the semester.

And even when I’m done, I’m not even really “done,” because summer classes start up on May 21st and I’m taking 5! But all this is for a good reason – so I can graduate in December! I’m so excited to be done with the black hole that is the University of Rhode Island.

Here are my groceries for this week! It came to $64 – that’s $14 over budget. I’ve really been trying to stay at the $50 mark each week, but it’s really hard. After my last doctor’s appointment, I’ve been trying super hard to stay on track and buy lots of produce and fresh ingredients.

This week, I’m making:

For the past week, my parents were away in China and I was house-sitting. They just got back last night! It was nice to seem them again, especially because I hate sleeping in their creepy house all by myself.

While they were gone, I took it upon myself to organize their freezer! It was in drastic need of a clean-out. You could barely close the door, there was so much stuff in there. The worst part was that it’s actually a huge freezer, it just wasn’t organized properly and the space wasn’t maximized.

As you probably remember from my Pantry Organization, Pantry Staples, and Freezer Organization posts, I love to clean out and organize these kinds of areas. I love the kitchen and anything that has to do with food! Maybe I should hire myself out ;)

I wish I had a before picture to show you, but my urge to clean was sort of spontaneous and, before I knew it, I had half the stuff in the freezer lying on the kitchen floor.

Here’s a shot of the AFTER of the whole freezer (our freezer is full-size – like a big fridge):

My mom loved it!
