What I Ate Wednesday 1/16/13

by MirandaMowbray on January 16, 2013

It’s still so weird for me to be typing “2013″ in my dates… It freaks me out thinking how fast time flys sometimes!

And woohoo! I remembered What I Ate Wednesday again, haha (thanks, Peas & Crayons for hosting!). I finally just put it in my calendar to remind me. Yeah, I know — I have a million crazy organizational things, but I didn’t have WIAW in my calendar yet?? What can I tell ya? I’m weird like that.

Keep in mind, I’ve been feeling kind of under the weather lately (to be honest, I’m pretty sure I’m actually getting an ulcer…), so I’m actually going to show my eats from Sunday instead of today, since I didn’t eat a lot. I just haven’t been feeling like eating AT ALL. It’s the most annoying feeling — I do feel hungry, yet never want to eat because my tummy’s bugging me. Ugh. But I’m taking some antacids to hopefully make it better.

Breakfast:

A cup of Keurig-brewed Dunkin Donuts coffee with 1% milk and Splenda, and two bowls of Special K original cereal.

Lunch:

hot-dog-001

Turkey hotdog with yellow mustard and relish (unfortunately, I can never remember take pictures of my ACTUAL food, so you’ll have to deal with this one instead ;) ).

Dinner:

Lean Cuisine steak & cheese panini. I know these things aren’t the best for you (preservatives and crap) but, honestly, I don’t care a whole lot. I only have them once in a while (maybe twice a month?), so I’m not worried.

Dessert:

A few bites of udge from Wright’s Farm! They have THE BEST fudge in the whole world. I got chocolate and salted-caramel. Delicious.

Snack:

4163706-chips-and-salsa

Tortilla chips and salsa. I can’t stop eating these!!

Obviously this wasn’t the best day for me. Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve been dealing with an ulcer, so I’m just trying to feed myself whatever isn’t going to make me nauseous and I haven’t been as focused on the healthy eating thing for the past couple of days. Right now I’m really just trying to get better and not stress about getting in my five servings of vegetables or whatever. Once I’m feeling less sick, I’ll definitely be back to my normal, healthier eats.

Just in case you’re curious, here’s what my stats came out to for Sunday:

Calories: 1235

Fiber: 17g

Protein: 39

Vegetables: 2.75 servings

P.S. A shout out to Melissa from Freeing Imperfections AND Kaity from Kaity’s Cooking for nominating me for the Liebster Award (I couldn’t pass it on because I was already nominated).

You make Rice Krispies treats out of Special K??? Oh my god, that sounds amazing. I feel like if I made them, it would ruin Special K for me forever, though haha!

Lean Cuisine panini actually looks good. I’ve seen them in the store but figured it would be small and soggy. I don’t eat that kind of food often but it’s nice to have in the freezer for a quick lunch and better than takeout!

Exactly! I was actually expecting it to be really soggy, too, but it was pretty crispy! The went on a really good sale the other week, so I bought a few that I hadn’t tried before. I’ve always seen people eating the pizza ones, so I finally got one of those to try, but I haven’t had it yet. I think it was the perfect thing for me to have, especially because I was sick — I needed something that wasn’t too filling, yet gave me enough protein to keep me going.

Awww sorry you aren’t feeling so good! I get the same way when I’m sick, I literally don’t feel like I can eat anything. At least you got in a couple veggie servings though!

If there’s fudge anywhere near me, I’m in serious trouble. Seriously, I can’t control myself with that stuff! I could truthfully eat blocks of it. It’s just that good. :)

I’m the same way! I just learned how to make fudge recently (I gave it as presents for Christmas) and it’s seriously dangerous knowing that, at any time, I’m about 5 hours away from having amazing fudge if I wanted it, haha.

Oh my god, it was amazing. Ever since I finished my piece I’ve been craving more like crazy! Fudge is definitely a weakness of mine ;)

whenever my tummy is blah i crave carbs so i can only imagine how wonderful the cereal and chips felt on your stomach! i like your attitude about the lean cuisine. that sandwich looks GOOD and it’s not like you live off the stuff! sometimes i feel like a “bad” healthy living blogger for posting my evening snacks that include sugar-free jello pudding but you know what, it’s one pudding cup! i doubt i’ve got a preservative buildup in me like a ticking time bomb or something, haha

Hahahaha I’m so glad you feel the same way! I’m definitely not claiming to be perfect over here, but I don’t want to be judged about that! I guess I try to think of it as: if I post about this kind of stuff, I’m being honest, and being honest is healthy — so therefore I am being a “good” healthy living blogger.
