I can’t believe it’s already Friday again… this week went by so quickly for me! And I can’t wait for a nice, relaxing weekend. Stop & Shop Perishables 3/8/13


Perishables:

  • Celery – $2.49
  • Asparagus – $1.44
  • Frozen broccoli – $1.25
  • Generic-brand Pillsbury biscuits (for a recipe) – $2.09/each
  • Mild Italian sausage – $3.99 (I used a $1/1 coupon)
  • Chicken breast
  • Deli provolone cheese (1/2 lb) – $4.11
  • Deli genoa salami (1/2 lb) – $3.46
  • Baby carrots & white mushrooms – $1.99/each + BOGO (final price = $1.00/each)
  • Sargento shredded cheese (you can never have enough of this stuff!)- 4/$10
  • Frozen blueberries – $6.99 (to make my amazing low-cal blueberry protein muffins)
  • 1% milk – $3.59
  • Strawberries – $1.88/each
  • Eggs (amazing sale!!) – $0.99
  • Green bell peppers – $2.59
  • Cucumbers – $1.98

Middle Aisles:

  • Diet Bargs, Fanta Zero, Coke Zero 12-packs – 3/$10 (must buy 3)
  • Diet A&W and Diet Sunkist – $1.00/each (I used one $0.55/2 coupon, which doubled to $1.10, making the final price $0.45/each)
  • College Inn reduced-sodium chicken broth – $2.39/each + Save $1 wyb 2 (final price = $1.89/each)
  • Light ranch dressing – $3.19
  • FiberOne bars – $3.00 (I used a $0.50/1 coupon, which doubled to $1/1)
  • Met-RX Big 100 bars (Brent likes to eat these before working out) – $2.00/each (I used $1.50/4 coupon, which made the final price $1.60/each)
  • Jumbo roasted peanuts (to make homemade peanut butter!) – $4.88
  • Whole wheat sub rolls (to make one of our favorite recipes — Chicken Cheesesteak Subs) – $2.79
  • Cajun seasoning – $2.50
  • Baking powder (from the reduced-price bin!) – $0.89
  • Sandwich rolls – $3.49
  • 100% whole wheat bread – $2.99

For the Home:

  • Angel Soft bath tissue – $5.00
  • Sparkle paper towels – $5.00
  • Purex laundry detergent – $1.99/each (I used two $1/1 coupons)

 

Total Saved by Buying Things on Sale = $37.85

Total Saved from Coupons = $6.05

Total Spent at Stop & Shop = $115.35 (This is way more than I would normally spend at the grocery store in one week, but a lot of the things that I bought were staples that I don’t necessarily budget for in my week-to-week grocery shopping — like soda, paper towels, toilet paper, Brent’s energy bars, etc.)


#2: Target


Target 3/8/13

  • Market Pantry tomato sauce – $1.00/each (I used a $1.50/2 Target printable online coupon, making the final price $0.25/each)
  • Cotton balls – $0.99 (I used a $0.50/1 coupon)

 

Total Saved from Coupons = $2.00

Total Spent at Target = $0.99 (before tax)


#3: CVS


CVS 3/8/13

  • Right Guard deodorant – 2/$6 + $1ECB (I used two $1/1 coupons, making the final price $2.00/each + $1ECB)
  • ZzzQuil – $4.99 + $1ECB (I used  a $2/1 coupon)

 

Total Saved from Coupons = $8.00 (I used $4ECB on this purchase)

Total Spent at CVS = $3.76 + $2ECB
