FAQs

What kind of camera do you use?

I use a CanonG12… I love it!

Where do you go to school? What’s your major?

I go to school at the University of Rhode Island. I’m majoring in English!

Are you a vegetarian? I noticed that a lot of your meals don’t include meat.

I decided to become a vegetarian in April 2011. Some of my recipes do contain meat from before I was a vegetarian, and from when I took a short break from being vegetarian while I was suffering from Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. You can read more about my decision to take a break from vegetarianism here. Visit my recipe page for all my vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes.

Are you romantically involved?

My boyfriend Brent and I have been dating since November 2010. I’m also in love with my guinea pig Wesley!

Do you ever get sick of blogging?

Sometimes. Blogging is a huge part of my life, so I wouldn’t do it anymore if I didn’t enjoy it. But there are times every once in a while when I’m either too tired or can’t think of anything to talk about. When that happens, I just decide not to blog. I wouldn’t want to read a post from a blogger who wasn’t into what they were writing, so I’d just prefer to wait until I’m in a better mood.

How much do you spend on groceries?

I give myself a budget of $75 per week now that Brent and I are living together. When I lived alone, I usually spent around $50. I usually only buy my groceries at Stop&Shop because it’s the cheapest and most convenient option around, although I will occasionally visit Shaw’s if there’s a really good deal on something. Read about how I use coupons to save money here.

What do you do to work out?

I LOVE lifting weights, using the strength machines at the gym, swimming, and doing ab exercises (I use Shape Magazine’s Ab Exercises from Nicole Scherzinger). I can’t walk on the treadmill or use the elliptical anymore ever since I was diagnosed with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome.

Are you trying to lose weight?

Yes, I am! Last year I lost 40 pounds. My goal is not to lose a certain amount of pounds, but eventually be a size 10 (right now I’m a size 14). Recently I joined SparkPeople and started counting calories to help me reach that goal!
